
On December 21, the city of Kolkata hosted the TATA Steel World 25K Marathon, an international sporting event that brought together around 23,000 runners of different nationalities, ages, genders, and religions, with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle, ecology, and sustainable development. Among the participants was our brother Arockia Kulandai sscc.
The competition included various categories, such as 25 kilometers, 10K, Ananda Run (4.5K), Champions with Disability (2.3K), and the Senior Citizens’ Run (2.3K), allowing the participation of people with different physical abilities and fostering social inclusion.
The event stood out for its spirit of unity and cooperation, as runners from all over the world shared the same routes with enthusiasm and determination. For many participants, running together was key to achieving their personal goals. One of them completed his first official 25K in a time of 1 hour, 50 minutes, and 54 seconds, highlighting the importance of collective effort and shared motivation.
The TATA Steel World 25K Marathon thus establishes itself as a platform that not only promotes sport but also reinforces values such as solidarity, diversity, and commitment to the environment, inspiring more people to take up long-distance running as a means of well-being and social unity.
