On February 23rd, the vibrant Parish of Serampore came together to celebrate a significant milestone: the Golden Jubilee of the presence of SSCC in India. This joyous occasion was attended by the Most Rev. Bishop Salvadore Lobo and Fr. Alberto Toutin. The community were also joined by Fr. Jean-Blaise Mwanda, provincial leaders and their delegates, as well as several Regional Superiors and Counsellors, who all contributed to a sense of unity and purpose at the event.
The celebrations began with a warm and heartfelt welcome extended to all the distinguished guests and community members. Following the welcome, the atmosphere became more prayerful as we participated in a Holy Eucharist. This Mass was particularly special because it included the Sacrament of Confirmation, during which many members of our parish community were blessed and affirmed in their faith.
The culmination of the Eucharist led to an exciting highlight of the day: the cake-cutting ceremony. This moment symbolized not only the celebration of past achievements but also the hopes of SSCC for the future. After the cake-cutting ceremony, all gathered for a delightful and lavish lunch, where everyone enjoyed delicious food and the warmth of fellowship.
As stories and laughter were shared over the meal, the spirit of togetherness and gratitude for the blessings we have received resonated throughout the gathering. With full hearts and satisfied appetites, we concluded our Golden Jubilee celebration, cherishing the memories we created and by looking forward to the journey ahead as a united community.
