General meeting of the Dutch Delegation (brothers)

The Dutch Delegation, which was officially erected on October 3, 2013,  has celebrated its first “general meeting” on April 3. The meeting took place at the house of Teteringen, participating 12 brothers. Felipe Lazcano, of the General Government, was present, as well as two lay people: Mr. Alex Aarts, in charge of the economy, and Mrs. Corrie van den Brand, responsible for the care of the elderly and sick brothers.

The main topic of the meeting was a reflection on the Project of Apostolic Religious Life (PARL) of the Delegation. The main axes of this PARL are community life with special attention to the aged brothers and to keep alive the missionary spirit, the Damien inspiration, that has characterized this group of brothers.

Nowadays in the Netherlands there are two communities: Teteringen (7 brothers) and Den Bosch (5 brothers). There are 3 brothers who live in houses with special care. Also belonging to the Delegation but living abroad there are 5 brothers (1 in Lovain, 2 in Lisbon and 2 in the Cook Islands).
