The Provincial Assembly of the Province of Mexico was held on 11 October at the San Damián house in Chalco, State of Mexico. The Assembly was divided into two parts.
Firstly, the ‘CRUCES’ team who come from the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit was presented, who will be responsible for accompanying the province in the search for strategies for the implementation of the decisions of the Provincial Chapter regarding restructuring. The proposed intervention includes meetings with the provincial council, visits to all the communities and interviews with the confreres for information gathering, awareness raising and reflection.
During the process the ‘CRUCES’ team will help to create and choose the scenarios that best respond to the Sacred Hearts mission in Mexico. In a second moment, Rodrigo Alcántara sscc (Provincial) announced, after the election of Enrique Ramírez sscc as General Councillor, the incorporation of Marco García sscc to the provincial council. With the council complete, the province proceeded to elect the new vicar provincial, who in this case turned out to be Marco García himself.
At the end of the Assembly Rodrigo presented the results of the canonical visitations to the communities and the provincial commissions presented their report of activities for the first half of the year. At the end of the assembly, brothers and Sisters bid farewell to Enrique, who leaves for Rome at the beginning of November, saluting him with a toast and mariachi music.
