Workshop of Secular Branch in Poland

The meeting of the Lay Association (Secular Branch) took place from Friday, February 27th, to Sunday, March 1st. Eleven lay members attended. We worked on adapting the statutes of the lay branch in Poland. Our statutes were from 2011, while new statutes were issued in Rome in 2022. Additionally, the 40th General Chapter in 2024 offered guidance on the lay branch. Present were 11 members with Coordynator of Polish Secular Branch Malgorzata Krzes including Father Kamil Wawro, the lay branch moderator in Poland, and Father Leszek Gólczynski, the Provincial Superior.

Some members arrived Friday evening, with shared dinner and rosary. On Saturday, after morning prayers, Mass, and breakfast at 8 a.m., we convened at 9:30 a.m. and worked on the statutes until about 12:10 p.m. After a lunch break with coffee and cake, we resumed at 3 p.m., continuing until 5:30 p.m. Dinner followed at 7 p.m., along with an optional rosary.

On Sunday, after 9 a.m. breakfast, we finalized our work. At 11 a.m., we attended Mass, and at noon, we had lunch before everyone departed. The work was fruitful, guided by the Holy Spirit. Each member shared reflections and experiences, ensuring our statutes meet the current needs of our province and help the Secular Branch grow.

During the meeting, we also addressed questions from the lay moderator in Rome, discussing challenges and support needed. We consider the meeting a success and look forward to our next gathering during the retreat in June, celebrating the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
