We begin the second week of the Chapter, with a synthesis of last Friday's spiritual conversation. We are grateful for the gift of fraternity that we have received - for the brothers who have gifted us (by their fidelity and attention), the gestures that build up this fraternity in everyday life.
We also recognize that we need each other: especially the closeness and accompaniment of one another. Especially too those who provide the service of authority. We know ourselves to be vulnerable and fragile at different levels. We need our fraternity to be strengthened by the way Jesus loves us; becoming Good Samaritans.
Just as important, is that we live our fraternity with gratitude for the gifts received, along with an awareness of our fragility. May we allow ourselves to be helped by our brothers and sisters and the Good Samaritans that the Lord places on our path. May we allow God look at our fragility in order to carry out his work, just as the Lord appreciated it in Mary, our Mother, and did great things in her and through her.
