Visit to the sscc brothers in Argentina

From 24th to 31st July Jean Blaise Mwanda and Fernando Cordero visited our sscc brothers living in Argentina. They were able to meet at the Emmaus College with Felix Martin and with the representatives of the Father Luis Foundation in Haedo. The interprovincial novitiate community is currently located in the parish of San José de Libertad, with one novice, although they will soon move to another house in the vicinity of the parish with a more suitable space for the rhythm of formation. They met with the directors of the schools and parish centres (which in total have about 3000 students, ranging from the youngest to young adult formation).

They also held a meeting with the parish pastoral council, where those present presented the values and challenges of a community that consists in the parish church and 14 outlying chapels, all trying to respond to the challenges of a population affected by various needs. There was an opportunity to speak with the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Merlo-Moreno, Bishop Óscar Miñarro, and with other members of the clergy of the deanery. Finally, Fernando and Jean Blaise had the opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist both in the parish church and in some of the chapels, as well as visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Luján.

From 1 - 5 August, the visitors will attend the Extraordinary Chapter of the Province of Chile-Argentina in Santiago de Chile. On Saturday, 6 August, at the end of the Chapter, they will present a report of their canonical visit to the brothers.
