Ultan's ordination - a real family affair (Brs)

The Ireland-England Province was delighted to celebrate the ordination of Ultan Naughton sscc, to the priesthood.  Ultan was ordained by Bishop Patrick Lynch, SSCC, Auxiliary Bishop of Southwark, UK.  The ordination ceremony took place in his native town of Roscommon, Ireland on Friday 22nd November 2013 (Feast of St. Cecelia) in the Church of the Sacred Heart.
Bishop Emeritus Brendan Comiskey, SSCC presided and the concelebrants included Fr. Derek Laverty, Provincial of the Sacred Hearts Community along with the Parish Priest of Roscommon. Deacon Tito Pereira (from the SSCC parish in Acton) assisted.  Also in attendance were Ultan's family as well as other members of his religious community: priests, brothers, sisters and associates.  The US was represented by Mike Gilsenan and Matt and Jerry Shanley.  Spain was represented by Sr. Rosario and a number of brothers from the Iberian Province.
Ultan celebrated his first mass the following day in the same Church.  This day was the feast of the Good Mother as well as the feast of the Irish Missionary St. Columbanus. Ultan has been appointed as curate to the SSCC parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, Acton where he will begin his ministry in the first weekend of January.
Pray for him as his journey continues.
