The visit continues in Calcutta (India)

On 17 and 18 September Thomas Sukotriraharjo and Fernando Cordero visited the community of Dum-Dum, which serves the Parish of Saint Damien of Molokai in Calcutta. In addition to having conversations with the two religious of the community and the subsequent community meeting, in which the brothers were encouraged to continue serving the 180 families that make up this parish community and to take care of teamwork, they met with a good group of lay people from this community with whom they were able to share different concerns and lunch. The visitors celebrated the parish mass remembering the figure of the titular of the parish, Saint Damien, who, alluding to the Sunday Gospel, had the "astuteness" to give his life generously to become the happiest missionary in the world. Juan de Dios Carretero sscc, a brother in temporary vows from the Province of Ibérica, who has just arrived in the Region for a year, will join this community in a few days.

The visitors were also able to visit the tomb of Mother Teresa of Calcutta in the Mother House of the Missionaries of Charity, praying for the brothers and sisters of India and of the Congregation. There they had a beautiful dialogue with Sister Joseph Michael, Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity who remarked: "We are small. God is great. Let us hold on to Jesus". She presented them with a relic of Mother Teresa's habit.
