All young ss.cc. "missionaries" participants in the World Youth Day (WYD) have taken part in the mission week. The Province of Brazil organized this week to allow an exchange between young people from different provinces of the Congregation.
We all arrived in Patrocinio on Tuesday July 16. Despite the delay in our departure from Belo Horizonte, the people of Patrocinio was waiting for us until almost midnight. When we arrived, they sang, danced and took pictures to show how the city is pleased to receive so many young people worldwide.
On Wednesday morning, Fr. Camille Sapu gave a presentation on some icons of the Congregation (Damien, Eustaquio and the Martyrs of Spain). In the afternoon there was time for various "workshops". One of them was to learn to dance "Samba". At night each province could make a show of traditional dances.
On Thursday, July 18th, was the diocesan day. The young people were organized into groups and sent to different parishes in the area. The brothers and sisters of the Congregation had the opportunity to take a trip a few miles of Patrocinio. It was a time of prayer and mutual knowledge. At night, all celebrated the Eucharist in the parish "Damien of Molokai", presided by Fr. Camille Sapu.
