Secular Branch Communities Hosts Concert (USA West)

Holy Name of Mary Church was filled with the Holy Spirit and the music of Trevor Thomson on Friday, January 31. Trevor is a nationally regarded singer and songwriter who has released several albums during his career. He is also the Director of Music and Liturgy at Holy Name of Mary, a fact that blesses the parishioners at Holy Name with his music every weekend.

After the invocation by Father Michael Barry sscc, mentor of the local Secular Branches, Trevor took over, with the help of his friends on stage, to perform many of his musical prayers and stories. It should be mentioned that the audience was encouraged to sing along. Some of his many beautiful songs include Christ In Me Arise, Broken Beauty, We Belong to You, and In This Place. These songs, and others, are well known and loved by the parishioners at HNM, and perhaps are now loved by the concert attendees who are parishioners at other parishes.

This concert of music and stories lasted about 2 hours, and was interrupted only when Trevor invited Father Rich Danyluk up to the stage to say a few words. Now, anyone who knows Fr. Rich, knows that he never says just a few words, but he always receives full and complete attention whenever he speaks. His homily-like talk was just the cherry on top of a beautiful evening for the nearly 300 people that came to the concert, supporting the Sacred Hearts Secular Branch that hosted the event.
