On April 16 2016, we celebrated the priestly ordination of our brother, Alexandre de Campos Leite, at the Diocesan Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Good Success in Pindamonhangaba – Sao Paolo, his hometown. A day of great joy and thanksgiving! The Eucharistic celebration was presided by our brother Bishop Luiz Vilela Mancilha, sscc, Archbishop of Vitoria, Espírito Santo.
Many participated in the celebration. A large number of sscc brothers and sisters as well as some diocesan priests and religious of other congregations were present, and of course the family, friends of the newly ordained and the people of God who came from different communities where sscc serve and from communities in which Alexander served at different stages in his formation: Belo Horizonte, Catuji (his current community), Ferraz de Vasconcelos, Vila Prudente, Tijuca and Campo Grande – Rio de Janeiro. After the Eucharistic celebration, we all gathered at the Salesian College for a great festive meal.
The theme which Alexander chose was “Be merciful as your heavenly Father is merciful,”(Luke 6:36) with the prayer that his priestly ministry could be a shining forth of the light and love of the Father who welcomes and forgives all.
Alexander is a simple, humble man of deep faith and religiosity that comes from his people with a great love of the Church, her people and with great availability to serve. May Alexander live happily in his new ministry as a missionary of the Congregation.
