There were fourteen candidates in all: eight for the deaconate and six for the presbyterate. The celebration took place Sunday Februry 26 in Kinshasa and the ceremony was presided over by Jean-Pierre Kwambamna, auxiliary Bishop of Kinshasa and he was accompanied by two other bishops: Etienne Ung’Eyowun (Bishop of Bondo) and Joseph Banga (Bishop of Buta)
In his homily the Bishop reminded our brothers of the following: the priest and the deacon are sinners; although sinners, chosen, poor sinners in the hands of God. It doesn’t make sense to be proud. To be ordained is a grace and God gives the grace to whomever God wills, when and how he wants to. From this comes the invitation to humility, simplicity and to service. The ideal is Christ, not the owners of this world.
After the five hour long ceremony we went to the parish center of St. Francis Xavier for refreshments. For our brother, Maxime we ask all the blessing and graces of the Lord and we wish him a fruitful ministry.
