On May 9 in the church of Madrileña de las Calatravas there was a presentation the icon (2,27x1,53) of the martyrs of the twentieth century. Also presented was the Guide "Memoriae Martyrum. The martyrs of the twentieth century in Madrid "(Ed. BAC).
At the bottom of the icon there is a 36 martyrs to represent the 402 martyrs of the twentieth century in Madrid. Father Teófilo Fernández de Legaria Goñi sscc is among these 36 selected figures, as clearly can be seen in painting.
In the Guide book there is a review of each of the martyrs and the 32 locations of the tombs (memoriae martyrum), in the environ of the community of Madrid, where the relics of the martyrs who have witnessed their faith with blood are venerated.
The event was attended by a large audience, including Mgr. Carlos Osoro, Archbishop of Madrid, the Nuncio and Cardinal Rouco. Also taking part was the icon painter Nati Cañada, and Mgr. Juan Antonio Martinez Camino, Auxiliary Bishop of Madrid and promoter of the event.
