Meeting of the new community of Leuven in Rome

From June 23rd to July 1st, the four members of the international community of Leuven are in Rome. Fernando León (Chile) and Ferry Indrianto (Indonesia) came to Rome from Leuven, Richard Lifrak (USA) from the U.S., and Camille Sapu from Ecuador, where he just completed the canonical visitation.

With the help of various members of the General Government, they have taken the time to get to know each other, to share in depth about their personal roots, their families, and their individual cultures. Then they reflected on the current situation in Europe, and Belgium in particular. Finally they reflected on the project itself, on the community and its mission, starting from the decision of the General Chapter and the specific advances that have been made to launch the new community.

They have also had the opportunity to celebrate, with the two communities in Rome, the Feast of the Sacred Heart. On Saturday the 28th, on the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, they visited the community of Sant'Egidio; on Sunday the 29th they made a pilgrimage to Subiaco, where St. Benedict lived as a hermit and began his experience of religious life; and Tuesday the 1st , they celebrate Mass in the Basilica of Saint Peter.

On July 2nd they will be traveling to Leuven, accompanied by Javier, to settle in the community in the house, and to take the first steps of its organization.
