Meeting of four religious congregations (Rome)

On Friday, March 28, a meeting of four religious congregations took place at the general house on Via Rivarone (Rome). The Superiors General and their Vicars, who speak French, participated. The attendees were: the Marianists (André Fétis and Pablo Rambaud); the Assumptionists (Beaudouin Ngoa and Benoît Bigard); the Brothers of Ploërmel (Hervé Zamor and Jean-Paul Peuze); and the Sacred Hearts (Alberto Toutin and Jean Blaise Mwanda).

The theme of reflection was: "The service of leadership in our general governments based on the pastoral option for youth." Discussions were structured around three main axes:

  • Mission in its different aspects: the Kingdom of God, the promise of life, and hope.
  • Approach: working with and for young people with an attitude of listening and mutual accompaniment (through concrete projects on ecology, peace, justice, solidarity, volunteering, etc.).
  • Places of youth encounters that are broader and help us discover new areas of action: student residences, urban peripheries, the creation of a youth network, the digital continent, etc.

How can we, from the general government, foster leadership in youth ministry? By relying on the documents from the latest General Chapters of each congregation.
