Meeting of Forum Kerjasama (Indonesia)

From February 14 to 16, 2025, the members of the Forum Kerjasama Pimpinan Religius Provinsi Gerejawi Palembang (FKPR PGP) gathered for their annual meeting at La Verna Retreat House. This forum is a collaborative group of religious congregation superiors (SCJ, SSCC, BM, FSGM, FCh, HK, KKS, and SJD) serving in Sumatra, Indonesia. Among those present at the meeting were Fr. Pankras Olak Kraeng sscc (Provincial of SSCC Indonesia), Fr. Paulus Halek Bere sscc (Coordinator of Ongoing Formation), and Br. Gerard Kelen sscc (Coordinator of Vocation Promotion).

On February 14, Bishop Vinsensius Setiawan of Tanjung Karang presided over the opening Eucharist and delivered a talk. He shared the concerns of the Indonesian Bishops’ Conference (KWI) regarding the current realities of the Church in Indonesia. He encouraged all the congregation superiors and their teams to take a more active role in responding to the needs of society. In the spirit of synodality, he emphasized that religious communities should walk and work together in proclaiming God’s love to all people and actively participate in Christ’s mission.

On February 15, Fr. Thomas Eddy Susanto, SCJ, gave a presentation on Dilexit Nos, the encyclical letter by Pope Francis, published on October 24, 2024. Titled "He Loved Us": On the Human and Divine Love of the Heart of Jesus Christ, this document invites deep reflection on the love of Christ. Fr. Eddy, SCJ, encouraged all members to read and reflect on this encyclical within the context of their congregation’s spirituality. Inspired by the encyclical, the members committed to further discussing it within their formation houses and religious communities.

Following the inputs from Bishop Vinsensius and Fr. Eddy, SCJ, the commissions on Formation, Promotion, and Social Outreach gathered to share insights and develop their programs for 2025.
