An atmosphere full of joy and fraternity filled the Kiara Payung Campground, Bandung, from July 3 to 5, 2026. For the first time in history, the SSCC Youth Gathering, which involved four SSCC parishes from the islands of Java and Kalimantan, was successfully held.
This event is a concrete expression by the SSCC brothers and sisters in responding to the results of the Congregation's General Chapter. The message from the Chapter invites all members to direct the focus of evangelization toward the youth and to open themselves to the joy of evangelization found within young people.
Carrying the grand theme "Walking Together, Embracing Friendship and Mission," the event invited participants and the organizing committee to discover the meaning of journeying together, inspired by the pious life of Fr. Rolf Reichenbach sscc.
A total of 225 participants enlivened this historic event. They consisted of various groups, including OMK (Catholic Youth) Gabriel, OMK Mikael, OMK Odilia, SSCC Scholastic Brothers, SSCC Postulants, as well as representatives from SSCC Youth Yogyakarta and SSCC Youth Batam.
The dynamics of the three-day activities were well-structured, following the grand theme of the event:
Day One (Walking Together): The opening day was highlighted by the sacred moment of the renewal of vows by the SSCC brothers. Afterward, participants were invited to get to know each other better through presentations and introductions from each participating group.
Day Two (Embracing Friendship): The focus of the second day was to strengthen bonds across parishes and communities. While building friendships, participants explored the life spirit of Fr. Rolf Reichenbach, sscc, through seminars and various engaging games. This togetherness reached its peak in the evening with a solemn reconciliation service, a warm campfire, and lively art performances.
Day Three (Mission): On the closing day, the emphasis was placed on mission. All participants were invited to make a shared commitment to bring the pious values of Fr. Rolf Reichenbach sscc, to life. The series of events concluded with a Solemn Mass.
As a provision before returning to their respective communities, the committee gave a deeply meaningful symbolic send-off. Each group was entrusted with a tree sapling to be cared for so it continues to live and grow, symbolizing the spirit of the event that must not die out. Additionally, pictures of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and keychains were distributed as an affirmation of their identity as SSCC youth.
Throughout the event, both participants and the committee felt immense joy and high enthusiasm. The presence of SSCC brothers and sisters in the daily Eucharistic celebrations also provided profound moral and spiritual support for the young people.
The organizers expressed their abundant gratitude for all the support, prayers, as well as financial and material assistance. Special appreciation was directed to all brothers and sisters of the Congregation—including the Secular Branch, Kordia Group, and Corio—as well as all the People of God who participated in making this event a success.
Seeing the enthusiasm and positive impact generated, there is a great hope that this SSCC Youth Gathering will not stop here, but will become a regular annual event in the future.
