Archbishop Dr. Heiner Koch of Berlin asked P. Manfred Kollig sscc to take over the post of Vicar General in the Archdiocese of Berlin. After careful consideration, and after consultation with the Provincial and the Bishop of Münster, Father Manfred Kollig agreed to accept this office.
This step is very painful for our religious community and for the community in Münster. We support this decision nevertheless, because we believe that Manfred Kollig can help the Archbishopric of Berlin, which is in a difficult situation. This is in the tradition of our religious communities, which has always considered it our task to serve the Church where the need is great.
