The assembly of the Union of Superiors General (USG) took place in Rome from November 21st to 23rd.
On this occasion, in addition to discussion some topics of reflection (the recent Synod on the New Evangelization and the current world economic crisis), they went on to the election of the new Executive Committee for the next three years.
The new president is Brother José Rodríguez Carvallo, Minister General of the Friars Minor (Franciscans). The vice president is Fr. Adolfo Nicolás, Superior General of the Jesuits. Our Superior General, Javier Álvarez-Ossorio, was reelected as one of the ten councilors; he has already served a three-year term in this capacity.
