On Monday 27 February, Alberto and Jean Blaise visited the Fr. Damien community of postulants in Bandung, where our brothers Baltasar, Anton, Gerard and 14 postulants live. The visit began with the celebration of the Eucharist, presided over by Alberto. Just after breakfast, they had a personal meeting with each brother, 2 brothers in the morning, 1 brother in the afternoon and a meeting with the postulants.
On the Tuesday morning, (28 February), the visitors met with the three brothers responsible for the postulants. Some important points were raised in the sharing: Some questions that can be looked at in more depth by the IF formation team included the following: personal experience, contributions from outside and elaboration of certain criteria and rules. Regarding selection of the candidates, would it be interesting to have an outside view of a woman? Regarding pastoral work and evaluation with the candidates and with those responsible for this work: Education ministry with the sscc and Almah Sisters and a two-week internship with disabled people; sscc Brother-Priest: his spirituality and lifestyle ...
Afterwards, the visitors visited the sscc community (Bandung), where Alberto presided at the Eucharist. The celebration concluded with a meal.
