Bishops of Peru recognize the service of the Congregation (bros & sisters)

As part of the 103rd. Ordinary Plenary Assembly of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference, on Thursday January 23, the Gold Medal "Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo" has been awarded to the religious of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts for their invaluable service to the Church in Peru.

Valéria Gomes dos Santos ss.cc. and Raúl Pariamachi ss.cc. received the award on behalf of their sisters and brothers.

By delivering the respective medals, Archbishop Salvador Piñeiro, president of the CEP, emphasized the presence of the Congregation in the country for 166 years, especially remembering Sister Hermasie Paget, Fr. Jorge Dintilhac and Archbishop Luciano Metzinger.

Un saludo y una felicitación a los hermanos y hermanas del Perú. Este es un signo de desagravio por lo que ha acontecido. Realmente el trabajo realizado por tantos hermanos y hermanas es un signo profético de la Vida Religiosa. Rául se ve muy elegante. Espero que no lo postulen para reemplazar a Cipriani porque ya está comprometido. Saludos
