On Tuesday, July 9th, the feast of the Virgin of Peace, the participants of the Poitiers Session visited the Grand' Maison in the city of Poitiers (France), cradle of our Congregation.
Marie-Gabrielle Renou sscc and Jeanne Cadiou sscc were in charge of showing the house to two language groups. For many of the participants, it was the first time they had seen such symbolic places, such as the oratory where the Founders made their profession on Christmas Eve.
There was a silent time of adoration before the meal and then more time to visit the house and the new provincial archives of the sisters and some objects on display for the first time from the time of the Founders. At lunch the group was joined by some sisters from the community and the Provincial of France, Bertrand Cherrier sscc.
In the afternoon, a snack was provided in the garden of the house followed by the celebration of the Eucharist, where the SSCC sisters of the community were present. The celebration, which on this occasion was prepared by our SSCC brothers and sisters from the Democratic Republic of Congo, had a special Marian flavour. We thank the sisters of the Grand' Maison for their wonderful, warm welcome, for opening the doors of their house so that we could all enjoy this emblematic and inspiring place.
