The Region of Paraguay celebrated its three year assembly of election in the Damien of Molokai House in the parish of St. Catherine in Asunción, December 14 -17. The ten religious (one in temporary vows) of the region attended, the Provincial of Brazil, Sergio Stein and Javier Álvarez-Ossorio. Sr. Lilian Bordón Provincial Superior of Paraguay-Bolivia was present at some of the sessions.
The principle decisions of the assembly turn on the following themes: revitalize the elements of ongoing formation ( community meetings, retreats, regional encounters); seek for a service of authority that is closer, which communicates better, and which accompanies the brothers; improve interpersonal relationships; move towards a greater economic transparency; reconnect with the sisters on the level of the governments; enter into a process of evaluation and reorganization in the apostolic situations; celebrate in 2016 the 50 years since the coming of the brothers to Paraguay.
The region has three communities and pastoral care of three parishes.
The assembly chose the new regional government for the next three years government Ángel Armoa (regional superior), Juan Carlos Torres and José Ramón Torre-Marín, (councilors).
