The Assembly of the Delegation of Holland was held October 11, 2016 in Teteringen. Fourteen brothers of the Delegation were in attendance, Alex Aarts, the finance manager, Mrs. Corrie van de Brandt and Mrs. Anne-Margriet Janssens ( in charge of the care of the elderly brothers) and Javier Àlvarez-Ossorio (Superior General)
The Assembly elected the government for the next three years: Jan Munsters (who continues as superior), Jan Wouters (vicar) and Roger van Rossum (councilor). The Assembly also approved financial aid which the Delegation will make available to diverse beneficiaries in 2017.
Anne-Margriet Janssens who has put many years into diverse services for the community was introduced as the successor to Corrie van de Brandt who will retire next year from her position of responsibility for the sick brothers.
For his part Javier explained the principle decisions of the recently held Extended General Council, held in the General House, dealing especially with the decision to close the International Community at Louvain, a project much supported by the Delegation.
At the Eucharist, the following anniversaries of our brothers were celebrated: Odo Tiggeloven (70 years of profession and 65 years of priesthood) Jan Groot Zevert and Ton Verdaasdonk (65 years of profession and 60 years of priesthood) and Theo van Zoggel (60 years of profession).
