From January 5 to 9, 2016, there was the annual assembly of the sscc brothers and sisters of the zone of Mozambique taking place in Boane (Mozambique). We reflected over the three days on the theme « Common Mission in Mozambique. » A commission of three sisters, one brother and one lay person animated the meeting. The method used was See, Judge, Act.
Day One was dedicated to See. We had a conference on the situation in Mozambique animated by Professor Brazão Mazula, the former rector of the Univeristy of Eduardo Mondlane and of ISTEG. Afterwards, each community of the zone made a presentation on the real situation of their mission highlighting both strengths and weaknesses.
The second day was centered on Judge. We read some documents which threw us light on how Jesus acted. Starting out then from our real situations and from the faith readings, we worked out strategies taking into account our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threatening situations.
The third day was centered on Act. On the basis of our strategies we programmed some common activities, brothers, sisters and laity. We will make an evaluation of this plan next year. In the afternoon, we took a walk to Matola.
The fourth day was separate as each branch evaluated the different activities.
The fifth day we had Mass and an elaboration of a common calendar of activities of brothers, sisters, and laity, 2016. Before that however there was an entrance-into-novitiate ceremony for Christian Nkumbi, Antonio Faka and Joachin Kupe. We closed the Assembly with Mass celebrated by the Provincial, Jean Blaise Mwanda. At the conclusion, we had a fraternal lunch. To the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, honor and glory.
