Arnstein is the only place of pilgrimage to the Sacred Heart in Germany. The main period is June, with the fill of four busses every Sunday. This is the volume that the church can hold and the services accommodate. The pilgrimages began in 1925; there are some parishes who have been faithful to them ever since that time.
The classic pilgrimage format includes: Mass, adoration, confession and the possibility of meals together. The actors behind the stage are the brothers of our Arnstein community and a whole group of volunteers. Besides the standard groups on Sundays, during the week the community normally hosts other pilgrims and parish groups; another bus full more or less. They come and pray in the beautiful setting: a monastery, which has seen 800 years of life crouching on a large rock that rises from the picturesque basin of the river, Lahn. This is a place of comfort, to rest body and soul.
