Annual Meeting of the Conference of Europe and Africa (CEA) (brothers)

The annual meeting of the Conference took place in Leuven (Belgium), from May 19 to 21. Present at the meeting were: Derek Laverty (Ireland - England), Gilbert De Decker (Flanders), Christian Malrieu (France), Heinz-Josef Catrein (Germany), Piotr Budrewicz (Poland), Enrique Losada (Iberian Province), Jean Blaise Mwanda (Africa), Jan Munsters (Delegation of the Netherlands) and Camille Sapu (General Government).

The Superiors spoke about their provinces, focusing primarily on the challenges and dreams for the future. A constant that can be seen as a common factor is the drop in personnel. This reduction will result in the near future in reducing financial resources. However, the CEA will continue to participate in the life and mission of the Congregation. Another issue that was discussed was how the "Delegations", a new legal figure, participate in the Conference.

The Superiors were satisfied with all that was shared at the meeting. Some have seized the opportunity to advance various projects or to create links of collaboration between provinces. The visit that usually takes place during every meeting, this year was to Mechelen (Mechelen), to the Museum called "Kazerne Dossin."

The Superiors thanked the host community of Leuven. They also had time to visit and share with the International Community.
