170 years ago, Mother Cléonisse du Cormier, ss.cc. and our first Sisters who arrived in Peru, faithful to the origins and customs of the Congregation, decided to first found a "free school" for girls from poor backgrounds on March 19, 1949 (Today it is the ss.cc Parish College, Queen of Peace). Then, on the 25th of the same month, the "first boarding school for ladies". What today is the SS.CC. Bethlehem.
In this way our first Sisters SS.CC, began their evangelizing Mission in Peru, with the opening of two female Educational Centers with the purpose of offering, a modern and solid education based on gospel principles and values, to the Country.
170 years have passed in which the seed sown by our first French sisters and, later, by about a hundred Peruvian Sisters and other nationalities, has borne much fruit. Currently, Belén School receives many commendations and recognitions from the best universities in the country for its excellent integral educational quality and contribution to the Education of the Country.
