On the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the arrival of Eugène Eyraud sscc to Rapa Nui, the Chilean Embassy to the Holy See and the Vatican Museum, in collaboration with the Congregation, are organizing a special event on Thursday, November 30th.
The event, a conference (in conjunction with the 'Giovedi dei Musei') will focus on the theme: "The great heritage of the little RAPA NUI".
The speakers will be: Sonia Haoa Cardinali (archaeologist and anthropologist from Rapa Nui) and Yves Chiaramella (President of the Société d'études des Hautes-Alpes).
Yves will present on our brother Eugène Eyraud sscc, accompanied by Dominique Robert-Loubet. They are currently writing a new biography about our dear brother Eugène (with many new archival details).
The conference (in Italian and English) will be broadcast live on the Vatican Museums’ YouTube channel on Thursday, November 30th at 4:00 p.m.:

The SSCC Sisters and Brothers in Rome will attend the event, along with 11 members of the family of the Apostle of Rapa Nui, Eugène Eyraud sscc, and a delegation from the island (including Father Bernardo Astudillo, current parish priest of the island).
The celebrations will continue on Rapa Nui itself, from January 2nd to 7th, 2024, with Éric Hernout sscc also present.
