100 years of SSCC presence in Torrelavega (Brs.)

After the inconveniences of Covid-19, the Congregation was able to celebrate 100 years of an SSCC presence in Torrelavega. The celebrations opened in December with a celebration of the Eucharist presided over by the Provincial, Aurelio Cayón. Following this, a stone tablet was mounted at the entrance of the church with the inscription "Let us build our souls on the stone of the Heart of God" (Good Father). Throughout the school year there have been various school events and different Jubilee celebrations in the parishes to mark the occasion.

The celebrations came to a close on June 17, with a celebration of the Eucharist presided over by Don Manuel Sánchez Monge, Bishop of Santander. In his brief homily he spoke of the mission of the Congregation, with some very sell chosen words, and expressed his gratitude for the presence and the educational and pastoral work in the diocese during these one hundred years.

About 120 people attended this celebration: SSCC brothers and sisters, teachers and staff of the school, directors of our schools, pastoral council, catechists, Caritas volunteers from the two parishes, families of the school, priests of the city, the Mayor, a former student, the Captain of the Civil Guard, the Chief of Police ... After the Mass there were several testimonies about the Congregation meant to various people.
