The Region of India celebrated the entrance of four new Novices into the Sacred Hearts Novitiate in Bhubaneswar – Odisha on August 4, 2017. A group of youth from Spain, accompanied by our brothers Marco Giordimaina sscc and Ignacio Dominguez sscc, also joined us in the celebration. A simple family dinner was served after the Eucharistic celebration.

Temporary Profession

The Region of India also celebrated the Temporary Profession of Suraj Kumar Sonwani in the Novitiate community on August 5, 2017.  The ritual of Temporary Profession was celebrated with the Mass presided by the Regional Superior Fr. Sudhir Nayak sscc, who as the Provincial delegate received the profession of vows of Suraj Kumar Sonwani.  Fr. Subal Francis Nayak sscc, preached the homily. Both the Novices of Brothers and the candidates of the Sisters, accompanied by Fr. Tileshwar Nayak sscc, led the liturgical choir.

The Sacred Hearts Family of Brothers and Sisters, the family members, friends and relatives of Suraj Kumar Sonwani, some priests and religious of in and around Bhubaneswar, and some friends, neighbours and co-workers of our SS.CC. communities participated in the celebration. The Spanish youth group, accompanied by Brothers Marco and Ignacio Dominguez, also joined us in the celebration.

After the liturgical celebration of the Temporary Profession, a sumptuous fellowship meal was served to all who joined us in the celebration. This special event could not have been a complete one without the youthful dancing to the sounds and beats of Sadri songs and to the sound and beat of Spanish Macca-re-Na. Please keep the Novices, the formators and the newly professed in your prayers.
